FRIENDS
I wrote in the last
newsletter of our proposed joint services between Cheadle
Hulme and Bramhall. If you recall, my suggestion is that we
meet once every quarter alternating between churches.
The aim of doing
this is that we can develop relationships at a personal
level to a much greater extent than at the present. In
addition, though we are two former Congregational churches
based only a mile or so apart, each has grown along
individualistic lines, so the opportunity will be for people
to “compare and contrast” what you like about each other’s
services and what you prefer about your own. I hope our
choirs will be able to join for these special occasions.
After each service
we will be holding a joint “bring and share lunch”. Elders
from both churches have now met and are very enthusiastic
about trialing the joint services so, here are the dates:
Sunday 17th October 2010,
at Bramhall. Bramhall operate
two services on Sunday mornings (plus an 8 am service twice
a month), similar to the 2 services held at Cheadle Hulme in
the past. People can choose to attend the 9.30 service,
which is a faster paced modern service based around Family
Worship, but I would encourage you to do what many people do
at Bramhall anyway, which is to attend both the 9.30 and
then the 10.30 service which is a more traditional time of
reflective worship.
There will be no service at Swann
lane.
30th January 2011 at
Cheadle Hulme, 10.30 am
There will be no 9.30 or 10.30 service
at Bramhall.
3rd April 2011 at Bramhall,
9.30 and 10.30 am
There will be no service at Swann
lane.
26th June 2011 at Swann La.
10.30 am
There will be no 9.30 or 10.30 service
at Bramhall. .
I do hope you will
all come. I understand that some will find transport an
issue, but please speak to your church secretary so that we
can arrange transport for you.
God Bless
