How to Find Us

  Greetings from your NEW MINISTER!

May 2008

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Alan Poolton and I will be inducted to the new pastorate of Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme at Bramhall URC on Saturday 21 JUN at 2.30 pm, perhaps I shall see you there?  I have spent most of the past 10 years of ministry working with families and young people in Local Ecumenical Partnerships in Runcorn and in Bolton.  Karen and I are very much looking forward to coming to live as part of your community in Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme as we learn and grow together.

I expect that we shall find it all very new and puzzling at first and I might not be able to remember all the names that I would like, so we will need your help and support as we settle in.

I hope over the course of our time here at Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme to get to know everyone much better.  Ministry is a privilege and I hope and trust that our walk together over the coming years will be beneficial to everyone concerned.

We are aware that we stand on the shoulders of those who have come before, we remember and respect the way that has been well walked by others, but we should never stop looking for the “new thing” that God has for us.  This is a hope and a challenge, it keeps us from descending into complacency and makes sure that we always seek to find a balance between respecting our traditions, and finding new ways to preach The Good News.

I hope to see you soon.

Rev’d Alan Poolton
